In March 2019, we brought Taz home. We never would have dreamed of what can be accomplished and all the magic that has already developed in such a short time! Having Taz has brought out a sense of responsibility in Jude with feeding, with getting Taz into his harness for outings and with accompanying Principal Handler Mom on our daily walks. Taz has brought a sense of calm to our home, in our morning drop offs at school, with a gentle "visit" during a stressful moment...Taz is quickly realizing and developing his relationship with his boy. This journey would never have been possible without the tireless efforts of Guide Dog foster families, the countless trainers and the continual training and support provided to our family through Guide Dogs as this journey evolves. This is our way to give back to an incredible organization and pay it forward to other families who would also benefit from making a service dog part of their family. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciate
Dog Guides are provided at no cost to qualified applicants. Thanks to national sponsors, 100% of the funds raised from the Walk go directly to the six Dog Guide training programs. Dog Guides Canada has already provided their specially trained Dog Guides to more than 2,000 men, women and children from ages 4 to 88, all without any government funding. With your help more people can experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.
