The heat is on! Please bring hats and umbrellas, wet towels around your neck. There is little shade at the start activities. There will be water before, during and refreshments following. Dogs can be sprayed with mist bottles or water poured on for cooling. The river is in flood so we best keep away from it! Fully accessible, this is a 2.5 km scooter-friendly route, and the first person to register with a scooter or mobility aid shall receive a prize. Also, the first team (3 dogs or more) to register shall receive a prize. Please notify me if you may be eligible for these prizes. Of course there will be more great prizes and activities at the event! Challenge a friend to "Pucker up for Pooches" at the dog kissing stand. Call to volunteer or for more information. See you there!
Thanks to our sponsors, 100% of the funds raised from the Walk go directly towards the raising, training and placement of Dog Guides for Canadians with medical or physical disabilities. Dog Guides Canada has already provided specially trained Dog Guides to more than 2764 men, women and children, all without any government funding. With your help more people will experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.
