After attending Lions Foundation of Canada to be trained as a handler for my daughter's Autism Assistance Dog (AAD)Buddy, I did not think my passion for this cause could get any stronger?! It has. Witnessing the quality of life and improvement in independence skills for the individuals with a disability has me almost begging for support. If not to a person in the Barrie Walk - then at least to the head office in Oakville. Imagine if all of Canada pledged $20?! Last year Lion's Clubs across Canada challenged members to each contribute $5 - this totalled sponsoring an additional 8 dogs! Dog Guides Canada has already provided specially trained Dog Guides to more than 2764 men, women and children, all without any government funding.
