Join us in support of the Toronto West Walk at High Park on Friday, May 26th. The evening will begin with “Yappy Hour Festival” from 5:00-6:30 p.m., with activities for you and your dog such as a puppy kissing booth, pet pictures , dog contests, canine massage station, “peticures”, ask a trainer tips, pet health corner, dog and owner community activities, silent auction, refreshments and so much more! At 6:30 p.m., the Walk will commence with our master of ceremonies, acclaimed Canadian actress and comedian, Kathy Greenwood, followed by a 2.5km or 5km walk through beautiful High Park. This year, the Toronto West PetValu Walk For Dog Guides is in memory of former foster parent Erica Stark. She is remembered as a dedicated community volunteer that has touched the lives of many. Her family continues to support Dog Guides every day.
Dog Guides are provided at no cost to people with a physical or medical disability. Thanks to national sponsors, 100% of the funds raised from the Pet Valu Walk go directly to the six Dog Guide training programs. Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides have provided specially trained Dog Guides to over 2,500 eligible Canadians from coast to coast at no cost despite costing $25,000 to train and place and no government funding. With your help, more people can experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.
