Deb and I are currently making preparations for the May Walk and spreading the word about Dog Guides and how they help Canadians in need! This is our 15th year of participating in this great cause. Dog Guides are FREE to Canadians in need....But (as we know) nothing is truly FREE. A Dog Guide costs around $25,000 to raise, train, care for and prepare for a Client. The funds to do this are raised through donations from family and friends supporting this cause. Recently we visited the LIONS Foundation Breslau Breeding and Training facility where they are awaiting the birth of seven litters of future Dog Guides! Possibly over 60 future Dog Guides....Currently there is a backlog of requests for a Dog Guide... Please help by sending in a donation. Thank You ... Dave MIllard 2018 Co-Chair Annual Walk For Dog Guides
Dog Guides are provided at no cost to qualified applicants. Thanks to national sponsors, 100% of the funds raised from the Walk go directly to the six Dog Guide training programs. Dog Guides Canada has already provided their specially trained Dog Guides to more than 2,000 men, women and children from ages 4 to 88, all without any government funding. With your help more people can experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.
