I've had the privilege of seeing first hand the difference a guide dog can make in a child's life! Although Ilario is now retired; he continues to be an important part of Drew's life as their family pet. I continue to hear stories of the amazing job guide dogs do whether it's alerting a diabetic of low blood sugar, calming an autistic child or providing the independence to safely cross the street and run their own errands. Training a guide dog costs $25000.00. The good news is the dogs are provided free to individuals with physical or medical disabilities. That of course is where we can make a difference. 100% of of our donations go directly to the cost of raising, training and placing the dogs. We can truly make a difference in people's lives. I thank you for any donation you can make to support this great cause.
Thank you for registering for the Walk for Dog Guides! Thanks to our sponsors, 100 per cent of the funds raised from the Walk go directly towards the raising, training and placement of Dog Guides for Canadians with medical or physical disabilities. Dog Guides Canada has already provided specially trained Dog Guides to more than 3,000 men, women and children, all without any government funding. With your help more people will experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.
