Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides 2024/2025

This May, help us “walk across Canada” to give more Canadians a new leash on life!

Dave & I have been a part of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides for many years, have visited the facility in Oakville, are excited about their brand new building currently in construction to further expand the need to fellow Canadians; these dogs are trained to assist in 7 different areas (Hearing, vision, seizure, diabetes, autism, service & facility support.  Puppies are bred by LFC Dog guides & with the help of foster families around the facility are trained until they are able to take on intensive training at the center.  So many Canadians have been assisted throughout Canada to regain their quality of lives again. 22 Dog Guide Teams are currently active in Manitoba.

This year we are doing a small walk along the Harte Trail in Charleswood with family/friends/neighbors encouraged to join us. Please bring your dog if you have or wish to or just come out for a leisurely walk!

We will meet at Pembina Trails Community Center parking lot on Rannock at 11:00 a.m. Sunday May 29th!  See you there!

From guiding their handlers through their daily lives to getting help when it's needed most, Dog Guides play a crucial role in the lives of Canadians with disabilities. By supporting our team with a donation to the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides, you are enabling Lions Foundation to fulfill their mission to empower Canadians with disabilities to navigate their world with confidence and independence by providing Dog Guides at no cost to them (the cost to raise one dog is around $35,000)  and supporting each pair in their journey together.

Please donate now and support us in our challenge!
