Why are we walking?
There’s something special about walking with purpose—especially when it’s alongside your favourite four-legged companion.
That’s why Iggy and I are taking part in the Lions Walk for Dog Guides, proudly sponsored by Pet Valu.
Iggy isn’t just my favourite dog—he’s a reminder of the joy, loyalty, and companionship that dogs bring into our lives every single day. But for many Canadians, dog guides are much more than companions. They are life-changing partners, providing independence, safety, and confidence to people living with disabilities.
The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides program trains these incredible animals and provides them at no cost to those who need them. That’s powerful. It means every step we take in this walk helps open doors for someone else—literally and figuratively.
For Iggy and me, this walk is about gratitude. Gratitude for the dogs who give so much, for the people whose lives are transformed, and for a community that steps up to make a difference.
So we walk—for the wagging tails, for the life-changing partnerships, and for the belief that something as simple as a walk can lead to something truly meaningful.
