This September 29, help me give more Canadians a new leash on life!
I am lucky enough that no one in my family needs a Dog Guide. But there are thousands of people, young and old, that do. For some, simple things that most of us take for granted like brushing our teeth or going to the grocery store, would be impossible without a Dog Guide. For people who are visually impaired, deaf, mobility impaired, seizure prone, autistic or who suffer other disabilities, a Dog Guide is not just a dog. It’s their companion and their ticket to an independent life, as much as it can be.
Dog Guides are not funded by the Government and training a single dog to be paired with one person costs in the order of $30k. As such, I am asking you today that if you can, please donate. You may not know anyone who needs a Dog Guide now, but what if you do in the future? Wouldn’t it be worth it to support this cause then? So why not start now? Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you,
Thamara.
