Monday 23rd FebA guide dog is never “just a dog.”
Hollie is my safety in crowded spaces and my confidence at busy intersections. She is the steady forward motion when anxiety creeps in and the calm presence that reminds me to keep going. She is my teammate on hiking trails and sidewalks alike. She is always focused, always faithful, always beside me.
As someone who loves hiking and being outdoors, having a guide dog feels especially poetic. A pathfinder beside a pathfinder. We don’t just walk; we explore. We move forward with purpose. We trust the trail, and more importantly, we trust each other.
The work that Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides does is truly life-changing. These dogs are not just trained; they are prepared with intention, compassion, and extraordinary care.
