Why I Walk

Thursday 14th May
Back in May of 2024 I applied for a diabetic alert dog from the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides after a severe low blood sugar that caused me to seize. After a lengthy step by step process, I was matched with Pepsi! Thanks to LFCDG, Pepsi has helped me regain control of my diabetes and reach my target A1C of 6.1, alerting me of lows and even waking me up in the middle of the night to treat them and fetching me juice along the way! The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is a non profit organization that offers these dogs to individuals with disabilities at no cost. I am walking to help raise awareness of how incredibly life changing these task trained dogs can be and to raise money to help them to continue to change the lives of those that could benefit from an assistance dog!
